One tiny preposition can make all the difference in the world when it comes Facebook. Recently they announced (yes, this is another announcement that they are making changes to the Edgerank Algorithm) that promotional content would receive less organic distribution in news feeds. The direct quote from the Facebook Business blog reads:
We are pleased to announce that Altos has been chosen as the digital marketing firm to redesign and launch a next generation website for Easi-Set Worldwide. Easi-Set is committed to “growing your precast business” and we are committed to helping them achieve that goal though their new web platform.
In a blog article posted last Thursday Facebook announced some subtle yet important changes to your timeline. Most users won’t notice these changes, but they are important for businesses to understand. A lot of social media evangelists attempt to pinpoint the best time to post online, but Facebook’s “timeline” is more of a user-targeted content assembly line. (Doesn’t have same ring, does it?)
A picture is worth a lot more than a thousand words, as proven by Instagram’s newest initiative. $1 Billion is the figure Facebook culled in order to adopt the comparatively fledgling picture-based app, and without a revenue stream it has become time for Instagram to earn its keep around the house. With over 200 million active monthly users worldwide, the app should have no trouble.
Altos will be hosting the monthly Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce Network AM event on August 28th from 7:30-9am. We have been active members of the Chamber since we were founded, 11 years ago. You will regularly find at least 2-3 members of our team at various networking events, participating on committees etc.
Our business is built on relationships, and being a Chamber member allows us the opportunity to connect with other businesses on a personal level. We are proud to support the GMCC and are passionate about the work the organization does for the community. We are mindful that our community has helped to shape our business. Having the support of a community driven organization, such as the Chamber, is one of the keys to our success. We invite you to come experience these connections first hand at our open house style Network AM.
Is social media giant Instagram 100% images? Not quite. In this day and age, social media gurus know that you don't need to search endlessly to find what you want, it is served up on a well-polished silver monitor. You may not be a guru, but you should know what a hashtag is. Instagram takes full advantage of hashtags to help deliver images to people who are most interested in seeing them.
Another week… Another Site Launch! We are excited to share our newest site for The New Hampshire Association for the Blind. This site created some unique challenges for both the design and development teams.
The underlying theme when designing and building this website was accessibility. Making sure the site is accessible to those with partial, or even full vision loss, required careful planning and clear communication with our client.
Happy Birthday, to us! Today Altos turns 11, we are taking a minute to look back and reflect on some of our history. Last year was a big year for Altos. Turning “10” brought with it a lot of changes. We completed a major project moving into our new office space at Bedford Farms. Our new offices (which many of you have been to) are a major departure from our previous space. Though moving is never easy, this place is incredible and we are very happy with our decision to undertake such a project… and very happy that it is all done!
