Harmony in A New Era of Work: Combining Remote Flexibility and In-Person Collaboration

Share

In a world where technology connects us virtually, it's easy to forget the value of in-person human connection. But study after study shows that employees want the best of both worlds: flexible work and in-person connection. 73% want flexible remote options to continue, at the same time 67% are craving more in-person time with their teams. *

At Altos, we believe there is immense power in combining remote work flexibility with the undeniable magic that comes from face-to-face collaboration. Our recent decision to commit once again to a brick-and-mortar space is based on that belief. Why? Because it’s important to foster these necessary human connections and empower team members to be their best, most creative, innovative, and passionate selves. To that end, we’re creating something we’re calling a “Home-Hub” workstyle.

The Best of Both Worlds

Going back to a commercial office space is not about control, visibility, or increasing productivity. It’s about acknowledging the convenience and efficiency of remote work while also recognizing the energy that flows when people come together in person. In an age of online Zoom meetings and virtual collaboration, we understand that human connection is critical to team members' personal and professional growth, job satisfaction, and overall mental health.

The Altos Branded Hub

Our newly leased space-Suite 105, will serve as Altos’ branded hub for celebration, collaboration, innovation—and, most importantly, human connection. It's not an office where team members are heads down producing; it's a place where ideas flourish, relationships deepen, and inspiration strikes. My personal goal is to create an environment where team members genuinely want to be—a place where they feel a sense of belonging and community.

The Home-Hub Workstyle

The heart of our approach is the "Home-Hub" workstyle. It's a concept that recognizes the individuality of our team members and gives them the autonomy to customize their workdays and workweeks to suit their unique needs. It's about blending the comfort and convenience of remote work from home with the vibrancy and camaraderie of in-person collaboration.

This workstyle allows our team members to work from home when they need focused concentration or personal flexibility. Or they can join team members at Suite 105 when they crave that human connection, brainstorming sessions, or simply a change of scenery. There’s no minimum “days in the office” requirement. No set schedule. There’s flexibility and trust. There’s a desire to give our team members the freedom to define their work-life balance while fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose.

The Benefits of "Home-Hub"

  • Increased Creativity: In-person interactions often spark creativity and innovation. The spontaneous conversations, whiteboard sessions, and casual chats can lead to breakthrough ideas that may not have emerged in a virtual environment.
  • Improved Productivity: Team members have the autonomy to tailor their work schedules (at home or in the hub) to match their deliverables and deadlines. Whether it is a quiet home office for heads down work or a lively office for brainstorming a new client strategy, the choice is theirs.
  • Enhanced Well-being: The flexibility of the Home-Hub workstyle promotes better work-life balance. Team members can better manage their personal and professional commitments, reducing stress and burnout.
  • Inclusion of Out-of-State Team Members: The branded hub allows us to increase the number of times we meet, onboard and train our out-of-state employees.
  • Stronger Team Bond: Meeting face-to-face builds stronger bonds among team members. It strengthens relationships, trust, and teamwork, leading to a more cohesive and effective team.

Embrace the Future of Work

As the world evolves, so must our approach to work. To innovate and bring about change, we must be willing to take risks and make bold moves.

With Suite 105, we're embracing the future of work by offering a Home-Hub workstyle that combines remote flexibility with in-person collaboration. We believe that human connection is the driving force behind creativity, innovation, and passion in the workplace.

Join us in this exciting journey of redefining workspaces and empowering our team members to be the best versions of themselves. The Home-Hub workstyle is not just a workplace trend; it's a philosophy that recognizes the profound impact of human connection on our professional and personal lives. Together, we'll create an environment where work is more than a task; it's a fulfilling and enriching experience.
