We need another highly-motivated, agency-experienced Full Stack WordPress Developer to support our rapidly growing portfolio of domestic and international clients. As a full-time Full Stack WordPress Developer II on the Altos development team, you’ll build and maintain fully custom WordPress websites, themes and plugins while providing a wide range of solutions through planning, feature implementation, debugging, and collaboration with our design and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

  • Build custom websites and plugins from the ground up on WordPress.
  • Solve problems using sound development approaches.
  • Produce accurate estimates for work scopes and present to members on the team who serve in an Account Management role.
  • Develop with best practices and sustainability in mind alongside others on the development team.
  • Collaborate with the design and marketing teams.
  • Creatively and strategically problem-solve with an open and positive mindset.
  • Have a strong Front-End skills that focus on styling , ux/ui and attention to detail.
  • Advanced PHP scripting inside a custom wordpress theme.
  • Advanced Gutenberg block creation and structure leveraging custom post types.
  • Custom Plugin creation to support website functionality.
  • Strong Front-end attention to detail. Spacing, Padding and Fonts.
  • Using advanced CSS/JS animation libraries to bring theme to the next level.
  • Comfortable with LAMP / LEMP stack environments.

Qualifications

Technical:
  • Minimum 5 years of WordPress development experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or programming preferred.
  • Mastery of HTML, CSS and JS.
  • Using SASS/CSS preprocessors (Gulp, Webpack, babel etc).
  • Experience with common CSS frameworks such as Bootstrap , Foundation or Tailwind.
  • Experience in Git version control systems.
  • Experience in Git version control systems.
  • Experience with consuming RESTful APIs and systems.
  • Comfortable in the command line (osx, wsl or linux preferred).
Personal:
  • Deep understanding of core programming concepts and ability to logically work through a problem.
  • Consistency in delivery and time management in a collaborative team environment.
  • Working alongside graphic designers for web design features.
  • Code integrity and organization.
  • Security and data protection.
  • In-touch with web standards, user experience, and accessibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
Bonus Skills:
  • Experience with Figma.
  • Laravel Experience or interest.
  • Experience with React / VueJs and or GatsbyJs, NEXT/Nuxt.
  • Experience in CSS/JS Animation libraries (greensock).
  • Headless Wordpress experience.
  • JamStack (Netlify, Github Pages) etc.
  • Accessibility best practices in code.
  • Understanding of page speed insights and a developers role in page speed.
  • Knowledge of Drupal 7/8/9 for support.
  • Knowledge of Joomla for support.
